Adjudication:
Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Columbus Dance Theatre located at 592 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. It is preferable for work to be shown live. If there are extenuating circumstances, work may be shown on video. Contact Shawn Hove at shovechor@yahoo.com with any questions. Adjudication will take place between noon and 3:00 pm and all applicants need to be available between these times. Each applicant will be given a time slot between these times and will need to arrive at least thirty minutes before their time slot. Space will be open at 11:00 a.m. and throughout the day for warm-up. The adjudication panel will consist of two members of the greater Columbus art community. Work should not be more than ten minutes.
Adjudication guidelines:
cm2 looks to produce work of a contemporary and/or experimental dance nature and the adjudication panel will look to accept work of that standard. Artists may submit work that falls outside the criteria if they wish. The selection of the work for the showcase will be at the discretion of the adjudicating panel, which will be responsible for selecting the most exceptional quality of work submitted for the showcase. The panel hopes to see work that is presented in its most finished and thought out state.
Acceptance guidelines:
If a work is selected to be produced in the fall Columbus Dances VIII Concert, cm2 will provide publicity, minor technical support (sound and basic lights), three performances for the artist's work, and a DVD of the three performances. The artist will need to be available for one one-hour technical rehearsal held Wednesday or Thursday evening between 7pm and 11pm or Friday Morning between 9am and 2pm. There will be a dress rehearsal at 2:30pm on Friday. It is preferred that Artists are present for dress rehearsal, as it will help the crew get a feel for the run of the show. Work selected must be able to be performed in all three concerts, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. The Artist will help with distribution of advertising, any technical needs outside of basic lights and sound, and participate in a Q&A with audience members after the Friday performance.
Performance Dates:
March 6-8, 2009 at Columbus Dance Theatre. March 6 and 7, 8:00 p.m; March 8, 2:00 p.m. Tech times for the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the show will be announced no later then a week prior to the performance.
